Kathryn D. (Kate) Baker
VA3OGF and KB1OGF
Kathryn D. (Kate) Baker (nee Galbraith) was born and grew up in Sarnia,
Ontario, Canada. She has an older sister, Sharon, a younger
sister, Lorna, and a younger brother, John.
She graduated from Sarnia Northern Collegiate Technical School and immediately went to work for Bell Canada. After a year with Bell, she was hired by the Toronto Dominion (TD) Bank where, for the next 38 years, she held a number of positions of increasing responsibility at various branches of the TD Bank in Sarnia, Waterford, Petrolia, and Wyoming, Ontario.
In 2000, TD merged with the Canada Trust Bank to become TD Canada Trust, the retail banking arm of the now second largest financial institution (TD Bank Financial Group) in Canada with over CDN $945 Billion in assets and over 15 million active customers worldwide.
In February 2006, Kate retired from her position as the Manager of Customer Service at the Wyoming, Ontario branch of TD Canada Trust, where she managed a staff of 5 customer service representatives.
Now that she's retired, she's enjoying spending more time in her garden as well as traveling, home decorating, shopping, cooking, sewing, crafts and scrap booking.
Kate keeps in touch with her husband, Keith and the local Ham Radio group using her KB1OGF (US) and VA3OGF or VA3OE (Canadian) call signs.
